The Parks and Recreation Department of Farmville strives to create diverse opportunities and experiences in order to provide social, cultural and physical growth within the entire community. With the goal of developing, promoting and enhancing citizen participation and stewardship through the use of exceptional facilities, parks, people, programs and special events in recreational activities.
The Town of Farmville offers a wide variety of sports for both youth and adults alike. In the spring we offer T-Ball, Baseball, Softball, and Soccer. In the fall we offer the same sports along with basketball, flag football, tackle football, cheerleading, and basketball.
The Town of Farmville offers a variety of programs, for all age groups, throughout the year.
Throughout the year, Farmville Parks and Recreation sponsors or co-sponsors many Town-wide events. From Dogwood Festival to the Independence Day Celebration, there's an event for everyone.
Farmville Parks and Recreation offers multiple parks with playgrounds, walking trails, splash pad, outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts, beach volleyball, fishing pond and a disc golf course.

Town of Farmville residents may request a need-based reduction for youth program fees. Requests must be made in-person at Farmville Town Administration, at least three business days prior to the program’s registration deadline. Approval is based on enrollment in Medicaid or Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and proof of current residency within Farmville Town limits. Any party ineligible for financial assistance under this program may request a flat 15% discount without requiring proof of need, excluding any other active discounts or restrictions. The Farmville Parks & Recreation (FPR) Department will give partial or full refunds for the following reasons:
Other valid reasons for exiting programs will be considered for program credit. FPR must be notified at least 2 working days prior to program starting date in order for FPR to be able to fill a program vacancy.
Senior management must approve a refund or credit for a program or portion of programs deemed appropriate.
Credits can be used only by participant or his/her immediate family members.

Invitation
The Town of Farmville, North Carolina, invites qualified consulting firms to submit proposals to develop a comprehensive 10-year Parks and Recreation System-wide Master Plan.
Purpose
The plan will include a comprehensive assessment of the department’s programs, parks, and facilities, including its ability to respond to the recreational needs of the community. It will also include recommendations for provision of facilities, programs and services; parkland acquisition and development; maintenance and operation; and administration and management. Preparation of the plan will include significant public participation. Once completed, the Town expects to use the Master Plan for the purpose of applying for local, state (e.g., PARTF), and national grant opportunities.
